Essex County Plumbing and Heating LLC is based in Newburyport. Our shop is here, our crew is here, and we've worked on hundreds of homes throughout this market, from Federal Street Victorians to Plum Island new builds.
Newburyport's housing stock is unlike most markets. Federal-style and Victorian homes on High Street, waterfront properties on the Merrimack, and a renovation market driven by buyers who pay for quality and expect it in return. ECPH specializes in exactly this kind of work: hydronic heating systems in pre-1939 homes, high-end bathroom renovations, kitchen plumbing for designer kitchens, and new construction on the city's remaining buildable land.
Our shop is at 9 New Pasture Rd., two miles from Market Square. When something needs attention in Newburyport, we're not driving from three towns over.
From a single fixture to a full renovation scope. Every service ECPH offers is available to Newburyport residents.

Not every plumber is built for high-value historic homes. Here's what matters, and where ECPH stands on each.
| What Matters | Why It's Important for Newburyport Homes | ECPH |
|---|---|---|
| Licensed Master Plumber on-site | Not a tech supervised remotely. The license holder is present and accountable for the work |
|
| Experience with pre-1939 homes | Old steam systems, cast iron, galvanized pipe. Requires different diagnosis than modern homes |
|
| Local shop. Based in Newburyport | Fast response, no long-distance travel time built into your quote, invested in this market |
|
| Written estimates before work starts | Prevents scope creep and billing surprises on high-value renovation projects |
|
| Pulls own permits | Required by MA law. Unpermitted plumbing can create liability at resale in a high-value market |
|
| Dual MA & NH license | Useful for Newburyport households with NH property or those hiring across the border |
|
| Business management background | Estimates, scheduling, and communication handled like a business, not improvised |

Yes. ECPH serves all of Newburyport, including Plum Island, the waterfront district, and the Historic District along High Street and Federal Street. Our shop is at 9 New Pasture Rd., so we're already local regardless of which neighborhood you're in. If you're outside Newburyport, we cover a wide area of Essex County MA and southern NH.
Yes. This is a significant part of our Newburyport work. The city has a high concentration of pre-1939 homes, and we regularly work on steam boilers, cast iron drain lines, galvanized supply pipe, and the plumbing configurations that come with Victorian, Federal, and Cape Cod-style homes. We know what to look for and what to leave alone. Hydronic heating in older homes is one of our specialties.
Our shop is two miles from Market Square, so Newburyport is as close to home base as it gets. Scheduling depends on current workload. Reach out and describe what's happening and we'll give you a straight answer on timing. We don't promise same-day response, but you're not waiting on a crew driving in from another county. ECPH is based here. We know the city, know the homes, and show up when we say we will. Quality work that lasts.
