Stoves, boilers, furnaces, pool heaters, outdoor kitchens, gas grills, fire features - licensed gas piping in MA and NH by a Master Plumber with dual-state gas credentials.
Here at ECPH, we work with numerous landscape designers. From outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and pool heaters; we take the design from paper directly to your backyard.
Over the years, we've played our role well. From working closely with landscape companies, to problem solving, we've helped many customer's design dreams come to life.
Every application has different load requirements and run lengths. We calculate them all - not ballpark them.
Buried supply line, shutoff valve, and flexible connector for gas fire pits, fire tables, and fire bowls. Sized for the specific BTU output of the burner, not a generic estimate.
Pool heaters draw significant BTUs and are often the furthest appliance from the meter - which means run length and pipe sizing matter more here than anywhere else. We calculate the load before we run the pipe.
Dedicated gas supply for built-in grills, side burners, pizza ovens, and outdoor kitchen stations. We coordinate with your contractor so that your job runs smoothly.
Outdoor kitchens and fire features brought to life with proper gas piping. Coordinated with landscape contractors from the design phase.
New Hampshire requires a separate gas piping license to run, size, and connect gas appliances - a credential that is separate from the plumbing license and that most plumbers near the MA/NH border don't hold. Combined with Ian's MA Master Plumber license (#16207), ECPH can run gas work on both sides of the state line without a different contractor on every project.
Gas line work generates a lot of forum anxiety. Here's a straight answer to what we hear most often.
"My meter might not have enough capacity for a pool heater."
We calculate your existing connected load and what the new appliance adds before quoting. If a meter upgrade is needed, we tell you upfront - it's a utility company conversation we help you navigate, not a surprise after the pipe is run.
"The run to my pool equipment pad is 75 feet - I don't think the pipe will be big enough."
Pipe sizing is a calculation, not a guess. We size based on BTU demand and run length using the correct sizing tables - which is why we don't give quotes before we know the appliance specs and the distance from the gas source.
"I need permits for this - is that going to add weeks to the project?"
Gas work requires a permit and inspection in MA and NH - and we pull them every time. It's part of the job, not an added complication. Most gas inspections happen within a week of request in our service area.
Gas line work starts with a load calculation, not a price quote. Tell us what you're adding and we'll tell you what it takes to do it right.
Every gas line job follows the same three-phase sequence - regardless of whether it's a grill hookup or a full outdoor kitchen manifold.
In Massachusetts, gas piping must be performed by a licensed plumber - specifically a journeyman or master plumber with gas piping authority. In New Hampshire, a separate gas piping license (like ECPH's #GF2011222) is required. A general contractor cannot legally run residential gas lines in either state. If a GC is pulling permits on a project, the gas line work still needs to be subcontracted to a licensed plumber.
Yes. Detached structure runs are common for pool equipment pads, cabanas, and outbuildings. We will decide which material is best suited for each unique application.
A hookup connects an appliance to an existing stubbed gas supply - flex connector, shutoff valve, and final connection. An installation involves running new pipe from an existing gas line (or the meter) to a new location. Both require permits in MA and NH. Both require a licensed plumber. We handle both, and the scope determines the quote.
Yes - this is one of the most common ways we come into a project. We coordinate with landscape contractors and designers to stub out gas supply before patios and counters go in. Getting the plumbing rough-in done before hardscape is poured saves significant cost over retrofitting later. Reach out early in the design phase if possible.
Yes. Ian holds his NH Gas Piping license (#GF2011222) specifically to cover the southern NH Seacoast market - Hampton, Exeter, Stratham, Seabrook, Newton, Plaistow, and the surrounding towns. There is no additional licensing requirement or handoff to a different crew. We operate the same across both states.
