Our Scope

Every Phase of Your Bathroom Renovation, Done Right

A bathroom renovation is more than tile and fixtures. The plumbing rough-in is the foundation everything else is built on. When it's done right, the rest of the project flows. When it's done wrong, it shows up in callbacks and leaks long after the tile is set.

Supply Rough-In

Hot and cold supply lines plumbed properly and in the right locations, before walls are closed up.

Drain & Waste Piping

Proper pitch, clean connections, and proper vent sizing. Creating continuous flow.

Shower Valve Installation

Thermostatic, pressure-balancing, or volume controls. Set at the right depth for your tile thickness so the trim plate hits flush.

Freestanding Tub Plumbing

Floor-mount supply and drain connections, including freestanding tub fillers and deck-mount faucets with proper backing in the subfloor.

Vanity & Sink Connections

Single and double vanities, vessel sinks, wall-mount fixtures. Supply and drain connections that align with the cabinet layout.

Toilet & Fixture Setting

Final placement once finishes are complete. We coordinate return trips for fixture setting so your contractor doesn't have to chase the plumber.

How We Work

We Enjoy Collaborating With Contractors and Designers

A bathroom renovation involves a lot of trades moving in sequence. We believe in laying out a clear plan of action from the start, with active involvement and communication on our end from the rough-in to the finish.

Doing kitchen and bathroom in the same project? See our kitchen plumbing services for the full scope we handle on combined renovations.

General Contractors

We work alongside general contractors on custom homes, additions, and whole-home renovations across Essex County.

Interior Designers

We know how to read a fixture schedule and help bring the designer's vision come to life. Bring us in early and the design comes out the way it was drawn.

Homeowners Going Direct

Managing your own renovation? We can work directly with you and your other trades. We'll help you understand what we need and when.

Why It Matters

Why a Master Plumber Makes a Difference in a Renovation

A bathroom renovation is not a service call.

01

Pulling Permits

In Massachusetts, a permit is required anytime plumbing or gas piping is altered. A Master Plumber license means no complications at inspection, and no re-work required.

02

Code Knowledge for Complex Work

Freestanding tubs, body sprays, steam connections, and radiant floor heating all have specific code requirements. Master Plumber training covers all of them across both MA and NH.

03

Dual-State Coverage

Licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, meaning no delays or licensing complications on projects in either state. One plumber handles the whole project.

04

Accountability

Choosing a Master plumber for your projects, ensures all work will be done to the highest standard.

05

Knowledge of Products

We work with many different brands of fixtures. We can guide you towards the best product for your project needs.

06

Trade Education + Business Background

Ian Burt trained at Whittier Tech and holds a Business Management degree from Northern Essex CC, an unusual combination that shows up in how the work gets scheduled and delivered.

How It Works

From First Conversation to Finished Bathroom

We move in sequence with your project. The goal is to stay ahead of the other trades so nobody is waiting on us.

1

Project Discussion

We review your plans or scope, ask the right questions, and give you a clear picture of what we handle and when we need to be on site.

2

Rough-In Phase

Supply lines, drain piping, and all in-wall or under-floor work happen before the tile setter and the drywall crew. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection.

3

Trade Coordination

We work around your schedule and your other contractors. We communicate clearly about what we need and flag anything that could affect the next trade in line.

4

Fixture Setting

Once finishes are complete, we return to connect fixtures, set the toilet, hang the vanity plumbing, and make sure everything works before we leave.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about what bathroom renovation plumbing involves and how we work.

Ask a Different Question

The plumber handles everything water or drain related: supply line rough-in, drain piping and venting, shower valve and body spray installation, tub drain rough-in, toilet rough-in, vanity supply and drain connections, and fixture setting once your finishes are complete. For heated floors tied into a hydronic system, we handle that too. See our hydronic heating page for more on that work.

For any work that involves moving or adding drain or supply lines (which most bathroom renovations do), yes. We pull the permit in your town and schedule the inspection. When you have a licensed plumber handling that step, the permit process is straightforward and your homeowner's insurance coverage stays intact.

Yes. That's a significant part of our work. We enjoy collaborating with contractors and designers. We can coordinate directly with your GC on scheduling, work from a designer's fixture schedule, and communicate clearly with whoever else is on the project. If you're managing your own renovation, we'll work directly with you as well.

Yes. We hold an active Master Plumber license in both Massachusetts (#16207) and New Hampshire (#2009861). We serve towns throughout Essex County MA and the southern NH Seacoast, including Hampton, Exeter, Seabrook, Stratham, and Kensington. No border complications, no subcontracting across state lines.

Hydronic radiant heat is one of our core services. If your bathroom renovation includes in-floor heating tied to a boiler system, we handle both the plumbing rough-in and the radiant system together. One contractor, no coordination gap between the two scopes. See our hydronic heating and boiler services page for more detail.

Call us to discuss your project. We'll ask about scope, timeline, and who else is on the job. The more detail you can share about your plans (even rough sketches or a fixture list) the better conversation we can have. We serve homeowners, general contractors, and designers throughout Essex County MA and southern NH.
